Service Description

1. Full Ear Health Check (Video Otoscopy) We begin by examining your ear canals and eardrums using a high-definition otoscope. You’ll be able to see what we see on screen (many patients find this fascinating!). We’ll explain if wax is present, how much there is, and the safest way to remove it. 2. Tailored Removal Method We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your ears, we’ll use one or a combination of the following techniques: • Microsuction: A gentle, precise method using a tiny suction device—no water involved. • Water irrigation: A safe, modern technique using warm water to flush wax out gently (not the old-style syringing). • Manual removal: Using fine, specialist tools under direct vision to carefully lift and remove wax. Your comfort and safety come first—we’ll always explain what we’re doing, and stop at any point if needed. 3. Aftercare & Advice Once the wax is removed, we’ll re-check your ears and make sure everything looks healthy. If there are any underlying concerns, we’ll talk through your options and refer you if necessary. We’ll also give advice on: • Preventing future wax build-up • Safe use of drops at home • Whether regular cleaning might be helpful for you (especially if you wear hearing aids)
